Incredibly, that’s precisely what they got after the famous actor bumped into the team at a local Burger King and hopped on board the team bus to take a candid photo and help cheer up Pella players following a dispiriting loss.

It’s uncertain precisely what Carrey was doing in rural Iowa, though the Des Moines Register surmised that he was probably there to study transcendental meditation at the Maharishi University of Management. The program has previously been attended by the likes of Oprah and Moby, so there’s every reason to believe that might have been Carrey’s motivation.

No matter what the actor learned about remaining centered at Mahirishi, that went out the window when he got a chance to clown around with a big captive group of teenagers. In a photo posted to Twitter, Carey quickly held up seven fingers next to a lone digit from a Pella player, commemorating Pella’s 7-1 loss to Fairfield (Ia.) High earlier in the day.

While everyone was surprised to see Carrey pop up on their doorsteps, no one was more stunned than Pella coach Jesse Jablonski, who had admonished his players from bothering Carrey when a few had noticed him in the back of the quick serve restaurant where the team was getting post game ice cream.

As it turns out, he didn’t have to warn them about giving Carrey extra space. Carrey didn’t want any. All he wanted was to make some kids reeling from an unfortunate loss a little bit happier.

"I kind of heard some whispers from a few of my guys in the background," Jablonski told the Register. "I didn’t really think it would be (Carrey) at first. What would he be doing in Fairfield, Iowa?

"Obviously, after [the photo] happened, the loss and the game were the last things on their minds."

  Palace have got lots of work to do if they want to turn a 5th place Championship finish in to Premier League survival. Where do they start?

Season Review
I think you can class promotion to the Premier League as a successful season. Dougie Freedman's Crystal Palace weren't really fancied for such success at the start of the 2012/13 campaign and had a bit of a rough start, but they soon hit their stride and were battling it out at the top of the table as Summer moved in to Autumn.

But just as things were looking up for the Eagles, disaster struck. With the club sitting in 4th place in October, Freedman made the shock decision to quit Selhurst Park to take the reins at 16th place Bolton, leaving Palace in limbo. The man to replace him was one who had seen it all before and Ian Holloway made a terrific start at his new club, bringing with him his brand of attacking (occasionally "gung-ho") style of football, aided by the exploits of Wilfried Zaha and Glenn Murray.

It was enough to take Palace (albeit briefly) to the top of the Championship, but as 2013 got going the wheels started to loosen. Injuries began to take their toll on a squad lacking depth, victories become draws, draws became defeats. Palace's home form remained hugely impressive, losing just twice and topping the home goal scoring charts across the whole league, but their away form dipped as they struggled for goals on the road. As a result the dream of automatic promotion faded, but the team secured a more-than-respectable 5th place finish (4 points above Freedman's Bolton in 7th) and a shot at the Play-Offs.

First up were much fancied arch-rivals Brighton, but after a disappointing 0-0 draw at home Holloway showed his tactical nous and organised Palace perfectly to take the away leg 0-2, with Zaha inspirational once again. Come the final at Wembley, their opponents Watford froze and the Eagles ran out deserved winners thanks to a Kevin Phillips penalty. Crystal Palace, a team who were almost in liquidation just three years ago, had secured their place in the Premier League for the first time since 2004/05.

Rio Ferdinand: Moyes was my choice to suceed Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand says David Moyes would have been his choice for manager – but does not believe he needs special treatment.

Moyes was appointed Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor and will take control of his first competitive game when the champions visit Swansea on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Whilst the decision to appoint the former Everton manager in the role was met with initial mixed reactions from fans, the former England international believes he is the right man for the job.

"We've got a manager who's very enthusiastic. He's young and has got the desire and appetite to be successful," he told the Sydney Daily Telegraph. "After the manager we had, that was very much needed and he's someone I would have chosen if I was in a position to.

"He's not someone who is looking to come in for three or four years - he'd love to replicate what the manager [Sir Alex] has done. There were people who'd have come into the job, who maybe wouldn't have wanted to be here for that amount of time. I'm sure the new manager sees this as a job for the long term."

The 34-year-old says the pressure of replacing Sir Alex is enormous but feels the Scot can cope with the demands of the job.

"You can't get away from the fact that the fans, and us as players, expect to win," said Ferdinand. "We've been used to it, so to say that the fans won't mind, that we should give the manager a bit of time to bed in, is lying.

"We want to win and I am sure he [Moyes] is the same. He doesn't want to come in and say 'give me a three-year bedding in time, I can just dilly-dally and be second or third."

Kuna taarifa kuwa chanzo cha kifo cha ghafla cha rapper Mangweir ni kuzidisha madawa ya kulevya aliyotumia usiku wa kuamkia jana. Inadaiwa kuwa Mangwea alikuwa pamoja na mtu aitwaye M TO THE P ambaye naye yupo mahututi kwa sasa.

Hata hivyo mwenyeji wa rapper Albert Mangwea aliyefariki jana jijini Johannesburg nchini Afrika Kusini, amesema hit maker huyo wa Mikasi amefariki akiwa usingizini.
